A new eight-speed automatic replaced the CVT on front-wheel drive
Through 2026, front-drive Equinox models used a continuously variable transmission while all-wheel-drive models got a conventional eight-speed. For 2027, every Equinox uses the eight-speed, regardless of drivetrain.
